Ethan Mara

My name is Ethan Mara, and I am a sophomore information systems major. I joined Phi Sigma Kappa during the spring semester of my freshman year (2019), and since, I have served on the rush committee and am currently on the executive board as the new member educator. In addition to the fraternity, I am also a student administration support assistant at the University of Maryland’s Institute for Physical Science and Technology (IPST). After graduation I hope to pursue a career in business or real estate. I am grateful that my efforts in my fraternity have been rewarded and will continue to strive to make an impact on my chapter.




Phillippe Castillo
Phillippe Castillo

My name is Philippe Castillo and I am one of the three recipients of the Phi Sigma Kappa Scholarship. I am currently a junior studying Economics and minoring in Real Estate Development and Philosophy. I joined Phi Sigma Kappa spring 2020 and have been an active member of the fraternity since. Besides taking on leadership roles in this fraternity, such as Social Chair, Philanthropy Chair, and Diversity Chair, I work as an administrative assistant in the Teaching, Learning, Policy, and Leadership (TLPL) Department in the College of Education, intern as an Accounting Intern at Nomadic Real Estate Investments, and occasionally attend meetings for the Real Estate Club and the International Economic and Finance Society (IEFS). After graduation, I hope to pursue higher education in Commercial Real Estate Development or Entrepreneurship/ Innovation and have an impact on the atmosphere in DC. Thank you again for the award, I am glad my active role in the fraternity is evident to both current and former members.




Konstantinos Nakas
Kostantinos Nakas

My name is Konstantinos Nakas and I am Junior International Business and Marketing double major at the University of Maryland, College Park. My majors frame my academic pursuit of merging my passion for sports business, with my knowledge of international cultures and globalization, as well as, understanding the power that sports have in breaking down national barriers. Regarding leadership, I was the Head of Survey Respondent Relations at the Center for the Study of Local Issues, where I was able to effectively communicate complex topics to a diverse audience of both the employees I was overseeing, as well as, my superiors when presenting our research findings. I also am the Apparel Chair for Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity where I merge my passion for graphic design with my pride in being a Phi Sig here at UMD. Lastly, I am involved in multiple clubs on campus including as Philanthropy Chair of the Greek Heritage Society and I am also a member of the Men’s Club Soccer team. I am very thankful to have received the Phi Sigma Kappa Scholarship for the Spring 2020 semester, and look forward to using the money to further my academic career at UMD.

Jack Singelstad

Jack Singelstad is a sophomore history major from Cambridge, Maryland, with plans of adding a second major in Government and Politics. As the current secretary of Phi Sigma Kappa, he is gracious for the gift of this scholarship to fund my further education. He is also a soon-to-be alum of College Park Scholars' Media, Self & Society program, as well as an incoming member of UMD Global Fellows. After graduating, he plans on entering into public service abroad for the U.S. government."

Gabriel Contino

Gabe Contino is a sophomore Environmental Science and Business Analytics double major at the University of Maryland. In addition to his involvement in the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, Gabe is a student-athlete with the UMD Spirit Squad. Gabe hopes to use his education to help bolster society's transition to environmental sustainability, be it through working in business or going to law school

I am Benjamin Beinish and I am an aspiring software developer. I am a computer science major with a minor in history. I am the community service chairman for the fraternity Phi Sigma Kappa. My greatest accomplishment is earning rank of Eagle Scout.
